Willard Fiske noted that this was first published in London by Ogilvie in 1806. Editions in one volume afterwards appeared in 1809, 1813, 1819, and at other times. the name of the compiler has never been made public. the miscellaneous collection of anecdotes, essays, and poems at the end is ot without interest. The openings and games are all in numerical notation and no diagrams are given.
Condition:
New spine in a custom made slipcase, ruminants of old book plate on front paste down, lacks folding plate else a very good copy.
