This work supersedes Lowenthal's, but closely follows its arrangement, with first a biography, followed by part 1 of the games, part 2 simultaneous and consultation games, part 3 blindfold games, part 4 casual games and part 5 games at odds. The biography has been rewritten, the annotations, overhauled, and the number of games, here numbered consecutively, increased from 206 to 300. the preface carries a note on Lowenthal. Includes indexes of players and openings.

Condition:

Corners and spine ends moderately rubbed, previous owner's name on front end paper, tissue guard age darkened. A very good copy lacking jacket.
