The introduction covers terms and themes, with examples. The author goes on to a more detailed treatment of various themes, under the headings: Key moves; Defenses; Mates; and Pinning and unpinning. Each page contains two diagrammed positions faced with explanatory test on particular theme. In all, contains 144 problems by various composers; with an index of composers.
