The Zurich Candidates Tournament of 1953 was a very special tournament in the history of chess-Smyslov, Keres, Bronstein, Reshevsky and Botvinnik, among others, participated. It was special because it was the occasion for some of the strongest, most innovative and most interesting Middle-Game play in modern times. It also had the good fortune to be written about by one of the great grandmaster, David Bronstein, in the classic work.

Condition:

Corners bumped, previous owner's initials on title. Dust jacket soiled, edge wear with chips and tears, stained at heal edge else a very good copy in about a very good jacket.
