One page type written letter Quarto (10 1/4" x 8") on Alain C White's Chess Problem Letter Head as Curator to Gilbert Dobbs signed at the bottom.

In the letter Hume is inquiring to a problems which he enclosed (not included) on whether it had been previous published and questioning the solution.

George Hume was a British composer and one of the main actors of the "Good Companion" Chess Club. He collected two-movers and used this collection to detect anticipations. He participated to the edition of many books of the White Christmas Series such as Changing Fashions, Valves and Bi-Valves, Flights of Fancy in the Chess World and The Good Companion Two-Mover published in 1922.

Gilbert S Dobbs (1867-1941) was an American problemist who specialized in two-movers. Hundreds of his composition have been published by White and Cheney in G. Dobbs. A Chess Silhouette (1942).
