The tournament was held in the beautiful sea-side resort of Viña del Mar at the prestigious municipal casino. Fourteen contestants came together to contest for the first prize. Unexpectedly, Carlos Enrique Guimard won ahead of Miguel Najdorf by one and half points. Third was Mariano Castillo Larenas a point and half behind Najdorf with +9 score. Jose Maria Cristia was fourth half point behind. Fifth and sixth was shared with Julio Salas Romo and Rene Letelier Martner with +7 scores and a half point behind was a shared tie by Rodrigo Flores Alvarez and Rene Letelier Martner. Following in descending order was Alejandro Maccioni Seisdedos, Enrique Reed Valenzuela, Tulio Pizzi Possi, Walter Ader Hausman and a tie for last place by Heriberto Appel and A. Tapia.

Condition:

Pages age toned, previous owner's name on front wrapper verso, last page with the head corner torn away not affecting text, spine ends chipped, some light edge wear with bumped corners. jacket spine ends chipped, lightly soiled else a very good copy in a like jacket.
