The grand city of Venice was the host for this tournament from September 29 to October 1949. Sixteen contestants gather to compete with Laszlo Szabo from Hungary capturing first with +11 1/2. A full point behind was Nicolas Rossolimo. Following close on his heals was Lodewijk Prins just a half point behind. A group of four tied for fourth through seventh with Harry Golombek, Svetozar Gligoric, Gedeon Barcza and Jan Foltys each with a total score of +9 1/2. Following in sole Eighth was Enrico Paoli a full point behind. The following place in descending order Cenek Kottnauer, Saviely Tartakower, Zimmermann and Joan Canal Oliveras tied with one another, Eugenio Szabados, Hans Mueller, Gino Fletzer and with three draws Giuseppe Stalda.

Condition:

Corners bumped. Jacket spine sunned, head spine heavily chipped, some edge chips, spine heal chipped else a better than very good copy in a about a very good jacket.
