This periodical was edited by Daniel Willard Fiske and Paul Morphy. The Problem Department by E B Cook. This was one of the first magazines published in America. It was started in 1857 and lasted until 1861. It was published at the height of Morphy's popularity and presence.
Condition:
Bound in half brown leather with gilt lettering to spine. Original wrappers bound in. Front wrapper heavily worn with some tears, bad stain at heal corner through page 120, spine incorrectly stamped January and volume one black-out else a good copy.
