49 pages with diagrams and text on recto only. Quarto (11 1/2" x 9") bound in to brown folder. Unpublished manuscript book for Alain White (possibly to be published in his Overbrook series, or one of the Christmas offerings. With Mott-Smith's hand corrections and notes through out. Unpublished manuscript.

Geoffrey Mott-Smith was an authority on the philosophy, strategy, and mathematics of games, and was editor of Games Digest and The Bridge World. During World War II, Mott-Smith served as chief instructor for the OSS in the training of cryptographers and cryptanalysts. He authored or co-authored more than 29 books on games and served as games consultant for the Association of American Playing Card Manufacturers. He had written a number of works dealing with chess and was known for his knowledge and skill as a chess problemist.
