This book presents over 810 cross tables of chess tournaments from 1921 through 1930. This compares, for example, with 61 cross tables for that period in N I Grekov's pioneering A History of Chess Contests and with 33 in P Fenstra Kuiper's Hundert Jahre Schachturniere (One Hundred Years of Chess Tournaments). Cross tables for all 1921-30 national championships for the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Great Britian, Scotland, France, Switzerland and Romania are given. The book also gives all 1921-30 cross tables for such recurring tournaments as Hastings, German Chess Federation, Argentine Challengers, Kent County Chess Association, Trebitsch Memorial, Kautsky Memorial, Leningrad, Ukrain, New York State Chess Association, and Western Chess Association. Checklist for these and other recurring tournaments are given in the Appendix.
