This international tournament, consisted of players from South America, took place in April 1961 at the Parque Hotel in Montevideo. It consisted of ten players. Hector D Rossetto from Argentina captured first place with a score of 6 1/2. Jorge Pelikan born in Czechoslovakia, but living in Argentina tied for second with Guillermo E Puiggros, also from Argentina, with scores of 6. Rene Letelier, an international master and champion of Chile, tied for fourth with Jose L Alvarez del Monte from Uruguay with scores of 5 1/2. In sole position of 6th with 4 1/2 points was Cristobal Dominguez from Argentina. Tied for 7th was Roberto Silva Nazzari from Uruguay and Eleuterio Recalde from Paraguay with 3 1/2. In ninth was Walter Estrada from Uruguay with 2 1/2. Last was Carlos Hounie Fleurquin, former champion of Uruguay, with 1 1/2.
Condition:
Edges chipped with tears, some age darkening to pages and wrappers, lightly soiled else about very good.
