Postcard (3 1/2" x 5 1/2") shows a casino and garden in Monte Carlo. The verso with handwritten text in German and signature from Gertrud Tarrasch to Johanna (Hanna) Reiser, dated “Beausoleil 11.4.[1930]” and with handwritten greetings from Siegbert Tarrasch.
Descriptions of events from the holiday destination. At the top with a handwritten note from Siegbert Tarrasch: “Best regards! They did everything very well. Your brother-in-law.”
Gertrud Tarrasch was the second wife of Siegbert Tarrasch, whom she married in 1924.
Siegbert Tarrasch (1862-1934) was a German chess player, considered to have been among the strongest players and most influential theoreticians of the late 19th and early 20th century.
