3 volumes. First Series: xiv+103 pages with tables, diagrams and index. Second Series:  x+119 pages with tables, diagrams and index. Third Series: viii+109 pages with tables, diagrams and index. Duodecimo (6 1/2" x 5") bound in original publisher's red cloth with black lettering to spine and overs. (Betts: 24-12; 24-14 and 24-16) First editions in English. 

The First Series is a translation of Schachmeisterpartien, with some additional notes by Blanchard.  A Collection of 74 annotated games, from tournaments played 1887-1890 grouped by openings.  The Second Series is a sequel to the First, containing 76 annotated games from the period 1890-1892, grouped by openings. The Third Series contains 70 annotated games from tournaments and matches, 1894-1895, grouped by openings. Each of the three volumes has a different English publisher. 

Condition:

Previous owner's name to front paste downs. Some occasional pencil corrections. Corners bumped, spine of First Series chipped and damp stained,, all volumes soiled and somewhat stained else about a good set of a scarce item.
