In typescript. Contains short review and score-tables of the first four Rosenwald tournaments: 1954-5, 1955-6, 1957-8; the 96 games from the 2nd and 3d, some with annotations, and including short round-by-round summaries and an index of openings. (1955-66: 1-2 Bisguier, Evans; 3 Reshevsky. 1956: 1. Reschevsky; 2 Bisguier and Feuerstein). The Third Rosenwald was Fischer's first important event, at thirteen, compiling the creditable total of 4 1/2 - 6 1/2 which was good for an eight place tie with Marshal and Herbert Seidman. The Fourth Rosenwald Fischer displayed remarkable combative skill and deep positional judgment in best the fourteen-player field which included former American champions Bisguier, Reshevsky and Denker, and a host of strong New York Masters. Fischer compiled his 10 1/2 - 2 1/2 score a full point ahead of runner-up Reshevsky, without a loss of a game.
